Die Stadt Santarém
Santarém ist die lebhafte Hauptstadt des Ribatejo. Im Gegensatz zur Region Alentejo sieht man hier weite, grüne Ebenen am Fluss Tagus entlang. Die gesamte Region ist stolz auf ihre traditionelle Pferde- und Stierzucht. Die Stierkämpfe in Santarém sind bekannt, ebenso wie die große Landwirtschaftsausstellung, die alljährlich einmal hier stattfindet.
